Military Honor or July 4th Card for a Veteran Make this beautiful card for a veteran! This card is made in such a way that the metal military medallion can be removed to place in a scrapbook! It is a very easy card to make and doesn't take long. The metal medallions are 2" in diameter and are self-adhesive for a perfect scrapbook or greeting card embellishment. For this card, you will need: *Blue A4 size card *Red cardstock *Paper with a flag or patriotic print *Circle Cutter *Metal Military Medallion (see below) *Ribbon Slider *Paper Glue *Foam Adhesive *Gold pen
• Have the blue A4 card with the opening down and the fold at the top. • Cut a piece of red cardstock to 5 1/4" x 4". Glue it to the blue card, centering it so there is a nice rim of blue showing evenly around the edges. • Cut a piece of flag or patriotic print paper to 5" x 3 7/8". Mark approximately where the center is on the paper and cut a circle with approximately a 2 1/2" diameter. • Glue the patriotic/flag paper onto the front of the red card, again centering it so there's a nice rim of red around each edge. • Now cut a strip of red paper 5 1/4" x 1/2" (or whatever the width of your buckle slider is). Make a buckle slider (or use a bought one) and place the red paper through it. Slide the buckle over towards the left side and glue the strip or red paper & buckle to the bottom quarter of the card. This forms a "belt" that is handy for writing a greeting. • Take the military medallion of your choice and place it in the circle, adhering it with a foam tape or dot. (Don't peel off the paper backing on the medallion! The foam tape will hold it very well on the card and will allow the recipient to remove it and use it any way they wish.) • Now just use a gold pen or any other ink color you want and write a greeting or message on the "belt" across the front of the card. That was an easy one! It shows your support for the ones that have fought and are fighting still for our freedom today. Remember, no matter what way you feel about the war in Iraq, our troops need our prayers and support!
