Silk Roses Greeting Card
Make This Beautiful Silk Roses Card For Any Occasion!
This beautiful card will bring sunshine to a loved one, whether you're just saying Thanks, Happy Birthday, Get Well, or even In Sympathy for the loss of a loved one.
What you will need to get started:
*White A2 Size card (4"L x 5.5"H), folded longwise (fold on the left side)
*Dark Pink Textured Cardstock
*Rose pattern print paper
*5 tiny silk roses with wire stems (can usually be found in the bridal department at craft stores)
*Fiskars Rope Border Punch (or substitute another border punch)
*Small Eyelet Hole Punch or Paper Piercer
*Ruler
*Pencil
*Glue Stick or Spray Adhesive
*Foam Dots
*Scissors
*Rubber Stamp Greeting (others such as Heart or Teddy Bear are optional)
Directions:
#1- Fold white A2 card in half, with fold on the left.
#2-Cut a piece of dark pink textured cardstock to 3 3/4"W x 5"H. Using the Fiskars Rope Border Punch on the 5" length, make a border on each side.
#3-Cut a piece of rose patterned paper to 2 1/4"W x 4 3/4"H. Glue the rose paper to the cardstock with rope border, centering it so there's a nice edge all around.
#4-Now, using the same dark pink textured cardstock as before,cut a small rectangle 2"W x 2 3/4"H.
#5- Starting 1 cm. from the bottom of the small rectangle, make a row of dots across the paper at 0.5 cm, 1.5cm, 2.5cm, 3.5cm, and 4.5cms. Now starting at the top of the rectangle, about 1.5cms from the top, make a row of dots across the paper, at the same measurements as before (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 & 4.5 cms). Moving down to 2.5 cms from the top (right under the row you just did), make another row of dots at the same measurements as before. Now, punch out the dots with your small hole punch or paper piercer. My hole punch will not reach the middle dot, so I just use a paper piercer for that one.
#6- Take the silk roses and thread the stems through the holes. Cut off the stems if they are too long. There is no need to glue the stems to the cardstock on the back since the wire is stiff.
#7- Now place the card topper with roses on the front of the other two layers using foam dots. It gives a nice 3-D effect. Make sure you place the rose topper towards the top half of the other two layers so you will have room to stamp a greeting on the bottom.
#8- Glue the whole assembled card topper to the front of the white card.
#9- Stamp a greeting on the bottom of the card and maybe a cute teddy bear too!
#10- Inside the card, you can just write your own message, or stamp a greeting for added style. In one card, there is just a stamped greeting in the middle, in the other, the greeting is stamped lower to make room for a stamped heart.
You're all done! You now have a beautiful greeting card for almost any occasion!
