Simple Pleasures Greeting Card
You will need:
Dark Red A4 size card
Cream & Red Patterned Paper
15" Length of Sheer 1" Wide Ribbon
Butterfly or other Medium Rubber Stamp
Gold Embossing Powder
Cream Card Stock
Dark Red Cardstock
Heat Embossing Tool, Glue, Paper Cutter or Scissors
Instructions:
Your A4 card will be lengthwise, the fold on the left side.
Cut a piece of red & cream patterned paper to fit the front of the card, (approximately 4 1/4" wide x 5 1/4" long) and glue to the front.
Cut a 3" x 3 3/4" dark red piece of cardstock and lay aside.
Cut a 3 3/8" x 2 3/4" piece of cream cardstock. Have your embossing powder lid open and ready and stamp your butterflies or other design on the cream card stock. Before the ink dries, quickly coat the image in embossing powder, then shake the excess off (it's sometimes easier to just dump the excess off onto a scrap piece of paper then funnel it back into the jar later).
Heat the powder with your embossing tool till it's nicely melted.
Glue the cream cardstock on to the dark red, and attach to the front of the card near the top and to the right. (I like the 3-D look, so I use pop dots to make this panel stand up more.)
Tie the cream length of ribbon around the front of the card and knot it with the knot towards the top third of the card.. You can use clear adhesive under the knot if desired, although this ribbon tends to stay put by itself.
This card is so simple and takes just minutes, but has such a beautiful simplicity to it, so it's a fun card to make a lot of and keep them on hand for any accasion.
