Make an easy tri-fold greeting card!
Supplies You Will Need:
* Textured Sea Green Cardstock
* Sheet of Vellum Paper
* Spray Adhesive (doesn't show through the vellum)
* 2 Boss Kut Forget-Me-Nots or other small flower die cut
* Rubber Stamp with Greeting & Butterfly Rubber Stamp
* 2 pieces of ribbon- orange and light green
* Fiskars Lace Border Punch
* Ruler
* Scoring Blade
Instructions:
#1- Cut a piece of cardstock 8 1/4"L x 5 1/2"H. Then cut a piece of vellum 8 1/2"W x 5 1/2"L.
#2- Score a fold line 2" in from each side of the length of the cardstock. A ruler will help you keep the score line stright. Fold these scored lines in towards the center (like a shuttered window). Put the vellum underneath the cardstock and carefully fold it around the cardstock. (The reason I do it this way is that vellum doesn't score very well.)
#3- After vellum is folded, apply a thin layer of spray adhesive & carefully place the cardstock back against the vellum.
#4- Finding the middle of the card, mark where you want the eyelets & punch a small hole. Place each eyelet in the center of a Forget-Me-Not, then through the holes, and set eyelet. The flowers don't need to be glued in place, just let them turn freely.
#5- Thread the two pieces of ribbon through the eyelets. They will tie nicely into a pretty bow to close the card. You may notice that this card is a little "puffy" because of the stiff vellum. If you want it to be extra flat, just place under a heavy book for several hours or overnight.
For the Inside & Outside:
Inside: I stamped a greeting that reads: "If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden."
Outside: In keeping with the garden theme, I stamped 3 butterflies.
This card is different in style from most, and therefore makes a delightful treat for any special occasion, or just to let someone know that you really care!
NOTE: Be very careful when you insert this card into an envelope-- the lace border on the vellum can easily be caught and tear!
